Operation: Classroom

I am constantly trying to rack my brain to have my classroom become more organized, functional, and fun.  I feel like as a middle school teacher, this is a much more difficult task than a lower grade teacher.  Should it be?  Is there a difference in how it should be set up?

I feel there are a few ways that make it different.  The students are at an age where they want to be treated as adults, yet still enjoy 'kid things' like stickers and bulletin boards and story-time (yes, I incorporate children's books into my classroom of 7th graders!!).  But I still struggle on where to draw that line.  I also feel like because social media is SO relevant in our student's lives, I try and pull those resources in as well.  Then my mind gets all jumbled on things that I could do, and I get super overwhelmed and stop thinking about it altogether.... back to square one.

This fall, since I am adding 6th grade into my curriculum, I feel that I need to appeal to the 'younger' aspect of everything, while still keeping true to the middle school 'feel' of things.  I also need to become a TON more organized than I ever have been before so that I can really make this year work - especially considering I am adding Student Council,Outdoor Ed Club, and team lead to my plate!!

What do you use to organize your classroom?
